Description
Written in the English Pastoral Style, this orchestral piece is a rhapsody on two well known Carols, "The First Noel" and "The Holly and the Ivy". Influenced by the music of Vaughan Williams, Holst and Percy Grainger in particular, the music rises to a climax where both themes are combined (there is even a "We wish You a Merry Christmas" in there as well). It is scored for 2 flutes, 2 oboes, 2 clarinets in B flat, 2 bassoons, 2 trumpets, 4 french horns, 3 trombones and tuba, 2 percussion parts and strings. Please contact me for any additional parts you need.
